摘要: Facial palsy is a severe condition that may be ameliorated by facial reanimation, but there no consensus about how to judge its success. In this study we aimed test new method for assessing movements based on 3-dimensional analysis of the surfaces. Eleven patients aged between 42 and 77 years who had recently been affected (onset 6 18 months) were treated an operation triple innervation: masseteric temporofacial nerve branch, 30% hypoglossal fibres cervicofacial contralateral through two cross-face sural grafts. Each patient five stereophotogrammetric scans: at rest, smiling healthy side (facial stimulus), biting (masseteric moving tongue (hypoglossal corner-of-the-mouth smile (Mona Lisa). scan was superimposed onto model "rest" position, point-to-point root mean square (RMS) value automatically calculated both paralysed side, together with index asymmetry. One-way two-way ANOVA tests, respectively, applied verify significance possible differences in RMS asymmetry according type stimulus (p=0.0329) (p<0.0001). differed significantly one (p=0.0316). evoked most asymmetrical movement, whereas produced symmetrical expression. The can used after reanimation.
