摘要: Abstract Multibeam, side-scan sonar, remotely operated vehicle and bottom sampling data have been acquired over a sector of the Aeolian arc to assess its volcano-tectonic characteristics hydrothermal mineralization potential. In this paper we report description areas where major tectonic, volcanic activity has observed. There are Basiluzzo area, Secca dei Pesci southwestern Panarea platform, del Capo highs, offshore area between Salina Lipari, eastern slope Vulcano. The study region lies at junction two E-W NE-SW trending tectonic lineaments through which extensional faulting Calabrian Sicilian margins, leading formation Tyrrhenian back-arc sea, took place. recent tectonics dominated by structures, appears be still controlled processes originated opening. Many newly discovered features observed e.g.: (1) three pairs cones aligned along in Lipari; (2) field fresh, tube pillow lavas Vulcano; (3) outcrops fresh rocks particular around islet, suggesting activity. Two types were sampled i.e. sediment-hosted sulphide deposits, Fe-rich crusts sediments. polymetallic deposits depression south for kuroko-type system reaching high-temperature black ore deposition is suggested. other sectors however, lower-temperature circulation thought tetsusekiei-type samples.
