摘要: Published measurements in tree rings1–10 suggest a persistent decrease with time of the ratio 13C/12C, particularly period 1860–1940, and release C13-deficient CO2 from both fossil fuel combustion forest clearing have often been invoked to explain decreases. Freyer11 concludes that “the existing leave no doubt 13C content cellulose fraction modern wood was indeed decreased significantly”. Data presented here for two species sites contrasting ecologies on remote exposed Tasmanian west coast do not, however, support claims these trends, which observed (mostly) Northern Hemisphere trees, are global response atmosphere agricultural industrial activities.
