摘要: Viral meningitis is a common infectious disease of the central nervous system (CNS) that occurs worldwide. The aim this study was to identify etiologic agent lymphomonocytary in Curitiba, PR, Brazil. During period July 2005 December 2006, 460 cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples with were analyzed by PCR methodologies. Fifty nine (12.8%) positive. Enteroviruses present 49 (83%) and herpes virus family 10 (17%), these 6 (10%) simplex virus, 1 (2%) Epstein Barr 2 (3%) human type mixed infection enterovirus virus. As conclusion most frequent circulation during summer observed higher frequency between 4 17 years age. methodology an important method for rapid detection RNA DNA herpesvirus CSF.
