摘要: Caraway is one of the most important medicinal plant cultivated in Poland. essential oil performs medium antimicrobial activity, although it inhibits growth many bacteria and fungi. The aim study was to evaluate microbiological activity caraway obtained from fruit originated different genotypes investigate correlation between this content its main components content. In experiments done 2008 2009, 20 selected from: European botanical gardens (17), cultivar 'Konczewicki' our own breeding strains (2) tested. Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) oil, which inhibited standard bacterial strain investigated. MIC value recalculated antibiotic units (AU). tested objects significantly different. strongest performed population genotype Cluj (MIC = 0.16 mg mL -1 ; AU 8650), while weakest determined for Krakow 1.75 582). A significant negative observed carvone content, however positive limonene exhibited can be recognized as a active component.
