摘要: There has been emerging evidence regarding gambling experiences of young people in Asia recently, but to date, none Malaysia. This study aimed estimate the prevalence gambling, and identify individual, familial high-risk behaviours factors among Malaysian adolescents. A cross-sectional was conducted over 4 months at randomly selected secondary schools Seremban Negeri Sembilan state. total 2265 self-administered, anonymous questionnaires were distributed students. The students completed questionnaire consisting sociodemographic family background, behaviours, high risk mental health questions. Approximately 29.6 % (95 % CI 27.7-31.5) respondents reported participating some forms activities previous 12 months. Among these, 3.6 % 2.8-4.3) them problem gamblers. Parental strongest correlate with adolescent behaviour. Signification association found between behaviour gender (being males), interestingly, not ethnicity. Adolescents who engaging (such as smoking, alcohol consumption, involvement physical fights, illegal vehicular racing) also more likely gamble. Gambling is an uncommon phenomenon amongst Public awareness campaign, education targeted groups, revision existing laws, screening primary care level should be implemented address issue highlights need examine national scope
