摘要: Abstract An experimental investigation was undertaken to study the stability and ultimate strength of aluminium alloy outstands. In tests, thin-walled cruciform extrusions were stressed into post-buckling range in axial compression. The local buckling behaviour flanges a section is same as that an outstand, i.e. plate element which free along one unloaded edge simply supported other. Two tempers AA6082 with significantly different stress–strain curves tested for five b / t ratios. strengths compared theoretical predictions, using classical Stowell theory plastic combination effective width concept, formulae recommended literature.
