摘要: Polyethylene wear rates in vivo are highly variable. A major factor contributing to the variability clinical is patient activity. Pedometer studies have documented a 45-fold range microprocessor worn on ankle more accurate than pedometer and records motion of leg real time, allowing assessment walking speed pattern. Average activity approaches 2 million gait cycles/year. With adjustments for weight activity, correlated pre-clinical hip simulator studies. Walking pattern also influence polyethylene wear. The greatest occur during first 5 years post-implantation. number cycles both decrease with aging, resulting decreasing over time. low cross-linked combined aging indicate reduced risk wear-related complications long term.
