Cognitive and learning profiles of delinquent and learning-disabled adolescents.

摘要: The association between juvenile delinquency and learning disabilities has been a focus of considerable discussion controversy. Nevertheless, only limited number investigators have directly contrasted these two populations. In those studies which examined the link antisocial behavior school problems, research methodology varied, resulting in conflicting evidence consensus. present study was designed to address this issue by comparing cognitive profiles delinquents learning-disabled adolescents. Specifically, 53 delinquents, 26 adolescents, 50 average achievers were evaluated with newly developed educational inventories. These assessment techniques used analyze several functional areas including processing efficiency, problem solving, response style. Application discriminant analysis adolescents suggested existence various subtypes delinquency. Learning characterized one subgroups. It concluded that more specific descriptions adolescent holds promise for rehabilitation and, perhaps, prevention
