摘要: The message that women should be thin comes from many sources; some of which may using the terminology loosely. To test this, Figure Rating Scale was mailed to 547 personal ad writers examine actual preferences those seeking a partner, physically fit and giving no weight preference. Respondents indicated ideal acceptable body sizes for partners. ethnicity respondents 85.1% White, 7.5% Hispanic, 1.4% African American, 0.7% American Indian, 4.1% other. mean education level 16.6 years average annual income about $40,000. Although males in three categories had statistically significant differences their choice an figure, figure size appeared negligible, men did not differ number figures they found acceptable. Females chose same as despite different requests. implications accepting wide range partner specifically requesting one are discussed.
