摘要: Phytoestrogens are polyphenolic, non-steroidal plant-derived compounds that can interfere with endogenous estrogen signaling and associated processes. As estrogens implicated in the etiology of breast cancer, these hormonally active evaluated as potential cancer chemopreventive or promoting agents. The differential receptor (ER) selectivity is main aspect this debate because alleged protective ERβ-mediated inhibition proliferation through ERα signaling. Soy, particularly rich isoflavones, major dietary source phytoestrogens. Upon soy consumption, isoflavones reach exposure levels human tissue at which they compete 17β-estradiol for ERβ binding. Moreover, induced dose-specific changes methylation related genes mammary ductoscopy samples. Ultimately, information on activation epigenetic silencing estrogen-responsive upon isoflavone, selective ER modulator (SERM), exogenous treatment, combined situ data will clarify estrogen- and/or SERM-like effects isoflavone supplementation.
