摘要: Polysomnography (PSG) is considered the gold standard for diagnosis of non-rapid eye movement (NREM) parasomnias, however its diagnostic yield has been rarely reported. We aimed to assess value polysomnography in different categories patients with suspected NREM parasomnia and define variables that can affect outcome. 124 adults referred were retrospectively identified divided into clinical based on their history. Each was analysed features or sleep disorders presence potential precipitants. The impact outcome number recording nights concomitant consumption benzodiazepines antidepressants assessed. Overall, PSG confirmed parasomnias 60.5 % showed a disorder another 16 %. Precipitants found 21 % patients. However, limited when clinically uncomplicated, since it revealed unsuspected precipitants (5 % respectively), but became essential people unusual history where overlapping diagnoses (18 %) (24 %) commonly identified. Taking during reduced yield. high parasomnia, reveal over 40 % complicated atypical presentation those epilepsy. suggest should be performed one night first instance, leg electrodes respiratory measurements after benzodiazepine antidepressant withdrawal.
