摘要: The upper incisor lingual morphology of the late Miocene Greek hominoid Ouranopithecus macedoniensis was almost unknown, as described earlier maxillary remains preserve only worn incisors. During most recent excavations in type locality Ouranopithecus, Ravin de la Pluie (RPl) Axios Valley (Macedonia, Greece), four little-worn central incisors were recovered. This material and a few additional incisors, discovered recently, are compared this article. Even though morphological comparison with old RPl material, lacking unworn or little is impossible, metrical monospecific character sample suggest that can be assigned to macedoniensis. separated two size-groups which general have similar except for some minor differences such presence pronounced mesial pillar small-sized specimens. observed significant size difference among studied attributed strong sexual dimorphism also well expressed other teeth. not identical those extant great apes, they similarities African apes (Gorilla Pan), while clearly different from Asian ape (Pongo). similarities, O. probably Eurasian hominoids; turkae. Among known hominoids, Nakalipithecus quite Ouranopithecus.
