摘要: Using the agar diffusion method, we conducted an in vitro study to evaluate antimicrobial activity of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), new endodontic cement (NEC) and Portland at different concentrations against five microorganisms. A base layer was made using Muller- Hinton for Escherichia coli (ATCC 10538) Candida 10231). For Actinomyces viscosus 15987), Enterococcus faecalis 10541) Streptococcus mutans 25175) blood medium used. Wells were formed by removing agar, materials placed well immediately after manipulation. The plates kept room temperature 2 h prediffusion, then incubated 37°C 72 h. inhibition zones measured. data analyzed ANOVA Tukey test compare differences among three cements concentrations. positive controls showed bacterial growth, while negative no growth. All tested strains except faecalis. NEC created larger than MTA cement. This difference significant (P 0.05). Among examined microorganisms, largest zone observed group < increased with time concentration It concluded that is a potent inhibitor microorganism (J Oral Sci 51, 437-442, 2009)
