摘要: Identifying determinants of spatial diversity gradients is in the focus biodiversity-related research and has gained considerable importance regarding global change conservation strategies. Despite their overwhelming crucial role invertebrates ecosystem functioning, our understanding factors driving broad-scale invertebrate limited. Tackling this issue, study analyzes macroecological patterns a highly diverse insect taxon across large parts western Palaearctic. We used regression modelling to assess influence environmental on overall, widespread restricted-range (endemic) carabid beetle diversity. Single-term regressions variation partitioning among climatic, topographic variables showed that total as well richness species were most strongly correlated with spatially structured related current climate (measures ambient energy and, lesser degree, precipitation AET). In contrast, notably range elevation. discuss possible factor surrogate measure historical processes impact history contemporary distributions. Our results indicate while overall carabids reflect conditions, primarily reflects more species, whereas distribution still significantly affected by processes. Thus, for general mechanisms diversity, taking into account dispersal abilities sizes essential, especially biodiversity are represented low powers.
