摘要: : To study the immunity of buffalo mammary gland during involution and around parturition compare it with mastitic gland, milk samples were collected from 9 Murrah buffaloes above critical periods. SCC increased significantly (p<0.01) by day 21 one week prepartum. was higher but became normal at 14 days postpartum. Phagocytic activity (PA) phagocytic index (PI) neutrophils decreased as duration dry period increased. Elevated levels immunoglobulins calving improved PA PI, lowest 18.8% PI 1.75 recorded 7 Buffaloes suffering clinical mastitis had 12.3% 1.46 that on third treatment. Distance teat ground level found to be minimum before parturition. The investigation showed in vitro weakest
