摘要: For a holometabolous insect, the beetle Zophobas morio, several motor patterns were recorded, using EMGs, for homologous metathoracic muscles of larval and adult stage. In larva, most are employed during walking, while in adult, only remotor coxae muscle (M119) will be activated leg movements. Segmental bendings larva mainly due to contractions dorsal longitudinal muscles. adults, myogenically driven thoracic flight display phase preference within wing-beat cycle, resulting not functional but also activity-dependent classification wing depressor elevator Time interval histograms excitatory junctional potentials (ejp's) show peaks separated by about 20 ms, representing period. Application chlordimeform (CDM), an agonist neuromodulator octopamine, elicits adults longer “flight” sequences without movement. During such ms modulation ejp intervals is missing. This points dependent afferences involved patterning output normal flight. CDM results tonic activation, which shows similarities with ‘flight’ wing-beat. finding suggests that basic neuronal circuitry underlying imago's present precociously, before dramatic reorganization animal metamorphosis. © 1993 wiley-Liss, Inc.
