摘要: School violence is a global phenomenon that impedes students' academic achievement. Globally, several studies have been conducted on the of school over years, describing devastating effect it has teaching and learning. Students experience at school, especially in USA Asian African countries (Ncontsa & Shumba, 2013). The rates physical are generally higher low middle-income (Barna Barna, 2014). present study was designed to explore teachers' perceptions towards role principals can use prevention without punishment West schools. A qualitative research design used, semi-structured interviews were with ten teachers from Africa. This revealed common schools negatively impacts students’ achievements. findings this also indicated corporal still used preventing violence. non-punitive ways such as positive reinforcement, restorative justice mediation, guidance counselling more effective than using punishment. principal identified includes leadership, distribution leadership support, appropriate training for teachers, strategic policies prevention.
