摘要: Summary The objectives of this systematic review were to investigate the effectiveness male-only weight loss and maintenance interventions identify intervention characteristics associated with effectiveness. In May 2011, a literature search no date restrictions was conducted across eight databases. Twenty-four articles describing 23 studies met eligibility criteria. All included four an additional intervention. Study quality mostly poor for (median = 3/10, range = 1–9) (median = 3.5/10, range = 1–6). Twenty-three 31 individual (74%) from eligible considered effective. Meta-analysis revealed significant difference in change favouring over no-intervention controls at last reported assessment (weighted mean −5.66 kg [−6.35, −4.97], Z = 16.04 [P 2.7 contacts/month), group face-to-face contact inclusion prescribed energy restriction. Preliminary evidence suggests men-only programmes may effectively engage assist men loss. However, more high-quality are urgently needed improve base, particularly studies.
