摘要: Several projects aimed at identifying priority issues for conservation with high relevance to policy have recently been completed in several countries. Two major types of undertaken, (i) policy-relevant questions most imperative and (ii) horizon scanning topics, defined as emerging that are expected substantial implications biodiversity the future. Here, we provide first overview outcomes conservation-oriented around world using this framework. We also include results project a Mediterranean country. Overall, different undertaken (at global scale, UK, US, Canada, Switzerland Israel) were strongly correlated terms proportion and/or topics selected when comparing topic areas. However, some differences found across regions. There was large variation among regions percentage proactive (i.e. action response oriented) versus descriptive (non-response emphasis given socio-political issues. Substantial same region. For example, related climate change, human demography marine ecosystems received higher while ecosystem services more emphasized current questions. suggest future initiatives should allow simultaneous identification both issues, presented here time. propose further on social-political be explicitly integrated into projects.
