摘要: Obesity in adults is characterized when the Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than or equal to 30. It estimated that 1.7 billion people world are overweight obese, and more one third of U.S. (35.7%) obese. There a variety factors play role obesity, such as behavior, environment, genetic factors. Usual countermeasures include adequate physical activity, avoidance calorie-dense foods, use certain drugs for promoting weight loss. Surgery an extreme measure anyone considering it must have failed consistently losing through lifestyle changes less invasive methods. The main currently employed obesity treatment present dangerous side effects, namely: elevation blood pressure, insomnia, constipation, headaches, among others. For this reason, wide natural materials been explored their potential. Considering anti-obesity products different mechanisms, recommended approach research effective treatment, reaching associated synergistic involve combination and/or with multiple activities. This chapter describes several active components mechanisms action combat obesity.
