摘要: Peptide histidine isoleucine (PHI) and VIP are derived from the same precursor. While central decreases food intake, potential effects of PHI on feeding have not been studied. In current study, we found that administered intracerebroventricularly (ICV) or into hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) amygdala (CeA) decreased consumption in overnight-deprived rats. The magnitude an anorexigenic response to differed depending injection route: ICV-infused peptide evoked most potent effect. We determined only PVN- CeA-injected did aversive consequences. addition, infused doses via routes assessed Fos immunoreactivity PVN oxytocin (OT) vasopressin (VP) neurons using double immunohistochemistry. OT VP thought promote termination. increased percentage Fos-positive regardless route. induced activation cells. conclude has inhibitory influence intake PVN, with neurons, CeA may be involved mediation PHI.
