摘要: A total of 959 faecal samples were obtained from dogs in 12 native communities Northern Saskatchewan, Central and Alberta the Northwest Territories. All examined using a flotation technique. Samples an area endemic human amoebic infections also by formol-ether sedimentation method. Eighteen necropsies performed. Entamoeba histolytica cysts recovered dog faeces at Loon Lake, Saskatchewan. Toxocara canis had low incidence Saskatchewan Alberta, appeared to be almost non-existent further North. Toxascaris leonina was found all areas surveyed. Canine hookworm plentiful areas, highest being recorded Many Taenia (or Echinococcus) consistently areas. Only one infection with Dipylidium caninum discovered.Metorchis conjunctus common reserves. Infections Diphyllobothrium sp. access good fishing. One specimen Dioctophyma renale necropsy. parasites no known zoonotic importance such as Trichuris, Alaria Isospora species recorded.
