摘要: Entamoeba histolytica infections of the gastrointestinal tract are common in developing world but rare North America. The authors present two cases: one involving an individual who had not travelled to endemic area and another was born Bulgaria. Both presented with severe abdominal pain diarrhea. Endoscopic assessment revealed scattered colonic ulcerations patient found have a liver abscess on imaging. Stool ova parasite studies were negative both cases diagnosed review biopsies.
