The first case of huge amebic intra-abdominal tumor with asymptomatic amebic colitis.

摘要: We report a rare case of huge amebic intra-abdominal tumor with asymptomatic colitis. This appears to represent the first tumor. A 31-year-old woman presented local doctor only sensation abdominal fullness. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) showed in left cavity, and she was referred our hospital. Colonofiberscopy for detailed examination multiple slight, discrete ulcers cecum. Ameboid trophozoites were identified from biopsy specimens, colitis diagnosed. Oral metronidazole (MTZ) administered at 1500 mg/day 10 days. CT 14 days after starting MTZ no change tumor, resection therefore performed. Pathological revealed Entamoeba histolytica engulfed erythrocytes complicated by hemorrhagic cyst. If an is present observed, should be considered among differential diagnoses.
