摘要: The objective of this paper is to look at the possibility approaching long-life core comparable with reactor life-time. main issues are centered on U–Np–Pu fuel in a tight lattice design heavy water as coolant. It found that hard neutron spectrum thus obtained, large fraction 238Pu produced by capture 237Np not only protects plutonium against uncontrolled proliferation, but substantially contributes keeping criticality due improved fissile properties (its capture-to-fission ratio drops below unit). Equilibrium composition demonstrates excellent conversion yield burn-up value high 200 GWd/t extremely small reactivity swings.
