Electrolyte abnormalities in elderly patients admitted to a general medical ward.

摘要: Elderly patients are particularly sensitive to the development of various electrolyte abnormalities, since they commonly exhibit some derangements in physiologic homeostasis acid-base status and balance. Our study was undertaken assess prevalence, as well pathophysiologic mechanisms involved abnormalities 248 elderly admitted our clinic for a variety causes. Fifty-five out these (22.2%) had at least one abnormality. In such cases thorough laboratory investigation performed an attempt delineate relation age.
