摘要: Abstract Global greenhouse gas mitigation should include the growing share of emissions from transportation. To help understand potential changing travel behavior requires disaggregating climate impacts transportation by transport mode, distance, and behavior. Here we use disaggregated data on to calculate impact Germans traveling nationally internationally in 2008 develop some illustrative options. We all relevant long-lived gases short-lived forcers global temperature change for 50 years sustained as emission metric. The total is determined almost entirely car (∼46%) air (∼45%), with smaller contributions public highest income group 250% larger than lowest group. However, middle classes account more two thirds impact. relatively few trips beyond 100 km contribute half because trip distance aircraft. Individual behavioral changes, like shifting modes or reducing frequency, can lead useful reductions. a comprehensive package options necessary deep
