摘要: Abstract Anxiety and depression in diabetic patients contributes to a poor prognosis, but possible causal relationships have been controversial. Anxiety, fear, anhedonia are mediated by interactions between different deep structures of the temporal lobe (e.g., amygdala complex hippocampus) other forebrain-related lateral septal nucleus). Connections these hypothalamic orexinergic system necessary for maintenance energy wakefulness. However, few studies explored impact long-term hyperglycemia on anxiety. We induced (glucose levels ∼500 mg/dl) Wistar rats injecting them with alloxan simultaneously protecting from daily low dose insulin (i.e., just enough avoid death), thus maintaining ketonuria as long 6 weeks. Compared controls, hyperglycemic exhibited significant reduction Fos expression nucleus basolateral amygdala, no differences were found cerebellar regions. Orexin-A cells appeared be inactive hypothalamus. No sucrose consumption or behavior elevated plus maze compared control group, decrease general locomotion was observed. These data indicate generalized blunting metabolic brain response, accompanied changes hedonic- anxiety-like behavior.
