摘要: The penicillins remain the class of antibiotics most commonly prescribed to children worldwide. In an era when risks posed by antimicrobial resistance are growing, understanding antibiotic pharmacology and how apply these principles in clinical practice is increasingly important. This paper provides overview penicillins, focusing on those aspects pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics toxicity that clinically relevant paediatric prescribing. Penicillin allergy frequently reported but a detailed history suspected adverse reactions essential identify whether hypersensitivity reaction likely or not. importance additional factors such as palatability, concordance stewardship also discussed, highlighting their relevance optimal prescribing for children.
