摘要: Patients with arthritis who take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) often develop peptic ulceration. Withdrawal of the NSAID may lead to increased debility and thus it be desirable continue while attempting heal ulceration by additional therapeutic measures. We have investigated effect cimetidine in this role. gastroscopically-proven ulcer associated ingestion were given either or placebo treatment continuing their NSAIDs. It was found that healed some patients over a 6-week period even on treatment. There no statistical difference between healing these ulcers when compared cimetidine-treated group. The mechanism NSAID-induced reason for above finding is discussed.
