Spillover of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon monoxide in oxidation reactions on SiO2 supported Pd

摘要: Oxidation of H2 and CO on large, oxygen preexposed Pd islands supported SiO2, has been investigated in the temperature range 323 ⩽, T ⩽ 523 K. The results have compared with corresponding reactions a polycrystalline film. A maximum reactive sticking coefficient 0.9 for an initial O2 0.8 both structures is concluded. 0.85 film apparently larger than unity island structure. obtained from structure can be rationalized if dissociate possibility to spillover onto oxide, while adsorbs reacts oxide. Spillover occurs precursor state irreversible apparent activation energy 0.1 eV forward reaction.
