摘要: Abstract Recovery from contraction-induced injury is impaired with aging. At a young age, the secondary response several days following consists of edema, inflammatory cell infiltration, and segmental muscle fiber degeneration to aid in clearance damaged tissue repair. This morphological has not been wholly established at advanced age. Our aim was characterize morphology 3 10 days stretch-shortening contractions (SSCs) varying repetition number (i.e. 0, 30, 80, 150) for old rats. For muscles rats, overt 3 days exclusively after 80 or 150 SSCs returned significantly closer control values by 10 days. no such responses were observed. Transcriptional microarray analysis demonstrated that rats differentially expressed up 2144 genes while 47 genes. Bioinformatic indicated cellular movement major biological process over-represented altered especially Protein levels various cytokines chemokines, key factors movement, increased 3- 50-fold high-repetition change age-related differential insightful given 0 SSCs) conditions, protein circulatory cytokines/chemokines The results demonstrate ongoing systemic low-grade signaling subsequent desensitization cytokine/chemokine aging — features which accompany impairment recovery.
