摘要: Efficacy of high-intensity resistance exercise becomes progressively compromised with aging. Previously, to investigate this, we developed a rodent model training consisting stretch-shortening contractions (SSCs) and determined that following one month training, young rats exhibit robust stress response 20% performance increase, whereas old display muted 30% decrease. Whether these age-specific responses occur early in constitute primary factors adaptation/maladaptation was not addressed. The aim the present study characterize performance, remodeling, transcriptional profile 6-120 h acute SSC exposure. For rats, pathway highly regulated (≥20 differentially expressed genes at each time point) accompanied by DNA demethylation, tissue isometric torque recovery. (13 2 6 120 h, respectively) coincided deficiencies muscle These findings occurred context heightened chronic levels gene expression This demonstrates age-related constitutive elevations diminished SSC-induced responsiveness epigenomic regulation remodeling.
