摘要: Biomonitoring of toxic metals in the water resources used by indigenous tribal communities Koraput district, Orissa, India was carried out under National Technology Mission Project. Most bodies catering for day-to-day needs local inhabitants were found to contain high concentrations Fe and Mn addition Cr, Cd, Pb Cu. The supported a great number phytodiversity plants growing therein accumulated significantly amounts these metals, submerged being more efficient than floating ones. species like Chara corallina Spirogyra spp. showed significant potential magnify Cd their tissue several times surrounding water. levels occurring at places where metal content is very could be indicating status
