摘要: Research into active galactic nuclei (AGN) – the compact, luminous hearts of many galaxies is at forefront modern astrophysics. Understanding these objects requires extensive knowledge in different areas: accretion disks, physics dust and ionized gas, astronomical spectroscopy, star formation, cosmological evolution black holes. This new text by Hagai Netzer, a renowned astronomer leader field, provides comprehensive introduction to theory underpinning our study AGN ways that we observe them. It emphasizes basic underlying AGN, types their various components, complex interplay between them other objects. Recent developments regarding evolutionary connections star-forming are explained detail. Both graduate students researchers will benefit from Netzer's authoritative contributions this exciting field research.
