摘要: Methane concentrations and rates of methane oxidation were measured in intact sediment cores from an inshore marine at Jutland, Denmark. The oxidation, determined by the appearance 14CO2 injected 14CH4, varied with depth season. Most was anoxic, but oxygen may have contributed to surface. Cumulative (0- 12-cm depth) for Kysing Fjord 3.34, 3.48, 8.60, 17.04 μmol m−2 day−1 April (4°C), May (13°C), July (17°C), August (21°C), respectively. If all oxidized sulfate, it would account only 0.01 0.06% sulfate reduction. data indicate that produced, addition being oxidized, 0- 18-cm stratum.
