摘要: Historical accounts and recent epidemiologic studies have suggested a mutually aggravating relationship between malnutrition infection. In protein-energy malnutrition, there is significant impairment of several aspects immunity, including cell-mediated immune responses, secretory immunoglobulin A antibody production, phagocyte function, complement system, affinity cytokine production. Several micronutrients play crucial role in maintenance optimum responses. On the other hand, excessive intake nutrients also impairs immunity. Animals fed diets lacking nucleotides lower responses than controls but no enhancement immunity when diet contains large amounts nucleotides. These observations considerable practical importance terms designing feeding formulas.
