The nature unauthorized behavior makes difficult ascertain information through direct questioning. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda, has ICD including authorizing some local people certain nontimber forest from the park. However, despite over 25 years ICD, resource continues. Other included crop raiding by wild animals, inequity revenue sharing, lack employment, factors that created resentment poorest communities. In communities, benefits obtained were reported greatest deterrents against activity, although ranked highest overall. Despite sensitive exploring use, management-relevant insights into can gained combination survey techniques, as adopted here. To reduce activity at Bwindi, we suggest benefit living in remote areas near providing affordable alternative sources products addressing raiding. prevent driving further should managed transparently equitably.
