摘要: The microstructures of long rod [001] single-crystal penetrators W grown by CVD and zone melt processing, W-5% Ta (ZM) were examined before after penetration into RHA steel targets, optical metallography transmission electron microscopy. initial Vickers microhardness values for the CVD-W rods was 417 VHN in contrast to 485 ZM-W as a consequence an order magnitude larger dislocation density. Both exhibited less dense head flow associated with adiabatic shear bands dynamic recrystallization (DRX) than ZM-W-5% Ta, but all erosion tube formation channel. These debris particles dense, overlapping composed DRX grains or areas larger, equiaxed resulting from residual grain growth. observations suggest that controlling penetrator solute-induced may control penetration.
