摘要: Abstract : The ballistic performance of tungsten single crystal penetrators is known to be a function crystallographic symmetry. macroscopic deformation geometry both and polycrystal continuous eversion the rod into hollow tube. differences in energy partitioning leading these variations must therefore accounted for by detailed material processes governed orientation. Inferences about have been drawn from microstructural characterization recovered penetrators. Residual 011 111 orientations were found repeatedly deformed recrystalized, but actual operative led quite different macrostructures, microstructures, penetration depths. 001 orientation unique process which allowed very efficient deformation, resulting maximum depth. These experiments demonstrate critical role determining final depths even when similar flow occurs. jg
