摘要: Biologists, breeders and trainers, champion sled dog racers, Raymond Lorna Coppinger have more than four decades of experience with literally thousands dogs. Offering a scientifically informed perspective on canines their relations humans, the Coppingers take close look at eight different types dogs - household, village, livestock guarding, herding, sled-pulling, pointing, retrieving, hound. They argue that did not evolve directly from wolves, nor were they trained by early humans; instead, domesticated themselves to exploit new ecological niche: Mesolithic village dumps.
