摘要: Fifty cats with naturally occurring stable chronic renal failure (CRF) were entered into a prospective study on the effect of feeding veterinary diet restricted in phosphorus and protein or without an intestinal phosphate binding agent their survival from initial diagnosis. Twenty-nine accepted diet, whereas compliance (due to limited intake by owner resistance change) was not achieved remaining 21. At diagnosis, both groups matched terms age, bodyweight, plasma creatinine, phosphate, potassium parathyroid hormone (PTH) concentrations, packed cell volume urine specific gravity. Feeding associated reduction urea concentrations prevented increase PTH seen receiving diet. Cats fed survived for longer when compared those that (median times 633 versus 264 days). These data suggest specifically formulated meet needs CRF, together drugs if required, controls hyperphosphataemia secondary hyperparathyroidism, is increased time.
