摘要: This cross-sectional study aimed to compare the effects of treatment with an atypical antipsychotic drug (olanzapine or risperidone) on quality life (QoL) and document adverse in 115 patients diagnosed schizophrenia who attended ambulatory service Hospital Dr. Joao Machado, Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Socioeconomic, sociodemographic, clinical variables were compared. The QoL Scale validated for Brazil (QLS-BR) was used evaluate QoL, assessed using Udvalg Kliniske Undersogelser Side Effect Rating Scale. Data analyzed χ2 test Student’s t test, a significance level 5 %. Patients both groups showed severe impairment occupational domain QLS-BR. Global QLS-BR scores indicated among risperidone users olanzapine users. most significant side associated risperidone, including asthenia/lassitude/fatigue, somnolence/sedation, paresthesia, change visual accommodation, increased salivation, diarrhea, orthostatic posture, palpitations/tachycardia, erythema, photosensitivity, weight loss, galactorrhea, decreased sexual desire, erectile/orgasmic dysfunction, vaginal dryness, headache, physical dependence. impaired those risperidone. Risperidone use psychic, neurological, autonomous other effects.
