摘要: Chronic rheumatic pain syndromes such as the fibrositis syndrome, 'whiplash' low back syndrome and regional are common clinical disorders of unknown cause. The presence tender points in predictable anatomical locations is essential to their diagnosis. Exaggerated dermatographia or flare response mechanical stimulation also a commonly observed physical finding. Dermatographia thought be local axon reflex mediated phenomenon, and, such, component neurogenic inflammatory response. Because inflammation may by polymodal nociceptors we examined topical capsaicin, chemical method stimulating reflexes, 12 patients with chronic 10 controls. There was significant correlation (rs = 0.61; p less than 0.01) between area induced for all subjects. Patients had lower threshold capsaicin-induced responses compared They larger flares at capsaicin concentrations 0.02 0.033 mg/mL (p 0.05) applied 20 microL aliquots over 30 minutes. It concluded that increased syndromes.
