摘要: Long-tailed macaques, Macaca fascicularis [RAFFLES, 1821], are small brown monkeys, with paler underparts and often prominent whitish hairs on the face. These ‘whiskers’ vary greatly in their development between individuals, a valuable aid to recognition. They particularly pronounced mature males (Plate XV). New-born infants black-furred, bright pink face ears; within week facial skin fades pinkish grey, after about six weeks black natal coat is replaced by one. macaques smallest of primate species featured this volume: adult weight 5–7 kg, females 3–4 so there marked sexual dimorphism.
