摘要: The per capita home range area of Japanese macaques,Macaca fuscata, is significantly smaller in evergreen forest than deciduous forest, though a corresponding difference food resource utilization patterns has never been described. present study compared the pattern macaques living two habitats: Yakushima population inhabits an while Kinkazan forest. We found that population, (1) density was higher; (2) inter-feeding bout sites distance shorter; (3) daily travel (4) size smaller; and (5) unit value main higher, population. groups utilized small intensively, to groups. also group shared 24% its with neighboring groups, only 10% other It supposed distribution affects ranging pattern, ultimately social relationships between macaques.
