摘要: The December 26, 2004 Sumatra earthquake’s epicenter was 163 kms away from Great Nicobar, the southern most island archipelago and hence it strongly felt in entire Andaman & Nicobar group of islands including Car Nicobar. 3400 people have lost their lives vital infrastructure were completely destroyed. presents study aims to understand vulnerability coast tsunami hazard varied sources by using numerical model propagation run-up compare with field data on inundation collected immediately after real time kinematic GPS. A database has been builtup modelling past earth quakes recorded this region. Elevation Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) used generate scenarios. GIS is generated which would be immense use mitigation planning.
