摘要: Background Successful antimicrobial stewardship interventions are imperative in today’s environment of resistance. New should include qualitative analysis such as a process evaluation to determine which elements within an intervention effective and provide insight into the context is introduced. Objective To assess implementation explore contextual factors influenced implementation. Setting An academic teaching hospital Cork, Ireland. Methods A was conducted on completion feasibility study introduction procalcitonin intervention. The consisted semi-structured face-to-face interviews key stakeholders including participating (senior) doctors (5), medical laboratory scientists (3) administrator. Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research used guide data collection, analysis, interpretation. Main outcome measures Qualitative assessment process, identification improvements its if proceeding randomised controlled trial would be appropriate. Results Analysis identified three main themes. (1) viewed positively support prescribing decisions. Participants modifications processing availability improve allow “more clinical influence”. (2) In concept fear missing infection risks potentially serious outcomes patients emerged. barriers available resources facilitators culture quality improvement. Conclusion This provides detailed testing positive findings this built upon full economic variety settings confirm effectiveness
