摘要: The species abundance, vertical distribution and diurnal migration of cyclopoid copepods was analyzed in the central Red Sea October–November 1980. Samples were taken to a depth 450 m with multiple opening — closing plankton net 0.1-mm mesh-size. Selected important allocated five different groups according their distributions during daytime. greatest number (9) found lower epipelagic zone (40 100 m), below strong seasonal thermocline. lowest (1) occurred upper part mesopelagic (100 250 which is characterized by dissolved oxygen gradient. Five had bimodal distribution, dual peak abundances zones. Distinct differences patterns noted between sexes and/or developmental stages. range diurnally migrating small, usually less than 50 m. Characteristic changes succession dominant occur within (0 m). Species-specific are compared published data from other areas. A conspicuous difference proportion carcasses species: small (<0.5 mm length) much higher carcasses, 20 40% total standing stock, larger ones (<5%). potential causes this phenomenon, may be due methodological bias, (2) sinking velocity or (3) mortality rate species, discussed.
